Receiving money in three easy steps
Picking up the money transfer you are receiving is fast and easy, and we are almost always close by. Review the steps below for information about how to receive money.

Step 1 - Request the reference number - The person sending you money will receive a reference number when the transaction is completed1. Ask for the reference number to make it easier and faster to pick up your money.

Step 2  - Visit your local MoneyGram agent - Bring with you one valid identification.

  • Requirements vary by country and agent. Please ask your local MoneyGram agent for details about their ID documents accepted.

 Step 3 - Complete the 'receive' form, if needed - If a receive form is available at your agent location, complete all fields and:

  • Include the reference number - if required by the receiving country or agent
  • Show your identification
  • Once verified, you'll receive your money (usually your local currency).
